Francis's Story
I attended Stamford High for one year, 1961 - 1962 as a sophomore (click on "then", see the photo at the bottom of the three, standing next to the car). I went to New York Military Academy (top right photo 1964) prep school after that. Hey, we're not getting old. You're not old until you have to shave your earlobes. OK, I admit it. I shave mine twice a week. :) Prior to Stamford high, I was at Cloonan Jr. High ("then" photo top left 1960), Steven Schl, Ryle Schl. After high school I taught marching percussion in drum & bugle corps in Stamford, New London and other towns in CT. Remember Walter Evans? He and I drummed together a few years. In 1966, we won a national championship drum quartet contest doing a solo using the 7/4 time signature from Dave Brubeck's "Unsquare Dance." I dropped out of college full time, went part time at Norwalk Community College. Later, moved to California; went to UC San Diego 2 yrs, then got a BA in economics from UC Berkeley (1981). I was older than some of my professors. Stayed in the SF Bay Area most of the time since then. So by n...Expand for more
ow, my age and IQ are the same #. :)
I moved from San Mateo, CA (20 miles south of San Francisco) to Alameda across the bay. Good bye Sam Ateo, hello Al La Meda. I worked for a company that recycles electronic equipment. Now I am teaching on camera acting classes to children. Occasionally do volunteer work. Several years ago, I was a volunteer phone counselor for the San Mateo County Crisis Line assisting people and intervening for suicidal callers. Saved 5 lives in 20 months.
I have done some acting in community theatre, local TV commercials and corporate training films; also do voice over work (radio commercials and training films). For fun on weekends, I perform in murder mystery dinner theatre doing impersonations, characters and foreign accents. It's my playground.
One of the advantages of getting old is that in a hostage situation, we'll be released first.
Been meditating consistently since 1975.
Recently took up water polo, but had to quit after my first game. My horse drowned.
